The following is a list of LocPlus MLS Error Messages with advice on resolving:
When trying to send an email you get an error message "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run MS Outlook and set it as the default mail client."   RESOLUTION:

Install MS Outlook (not Outlook Express). Quit all mail-aware programs. This includes any MS Office programs and follow these steps to set Outlook as your default e-mail program:

  1. Start MS Internet Explorer version 5.0 or later.
  2. On the "Tools" menu, click "Internet Options".
  3. On the "Programs" tab, in the "E-mail" list, click to select "Microsoft Outlook". Do not click "Outlook Express".
  4. Click "OK".

When trying to send an email you get an error message "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run MS Outlook and set it as the default mail client."   RESOLUTION:

You don't have all of Outlooks features installed:

  1. From the Windows "START" menu select "START / SETTINGS / CONTROL PANEL".
  2. Select the icon for "Add/Remove Programs".
  3. Select "Office 2000" or "Microsoft Outlook".
  4. Select "Microsoft Outlook for Windows".
  5. Make sure "Collaboration Data Objects" is installed.

Get error 'MAPI Session not found' when emailing."   RESOLUTION:

Install Collaboration Data Objects from the MS Office system. Often Office is not installed with Collaboration Data Objects with the default setup.


Sever error which exits LocPlus system after email sent successfully (when using MAPI option only).   RESOLUTION:

You are using an older version of Office than your OS supports. (i.e. if using Windows XP must use Office XP.


When using SMTP mail, you get an SEE error -35 or -46 (Cannot find SMTP/POP3 server).   RESOLUTION:

You have attachments that can't be found...Usually because you have moved the attachment, or you may be using folder names with unusual illegal characters (for example: commas or semicolons). Verify location and file name and folder names of attachments.


When using SMTP mail, you get an SEE error -49.   RESOLUTION:

Your server may not support Extended Secure logins. Make sure you do not use a SMTP user name in your 'User email information setup'. (View by selecting 'Tools / User Setup (Email)' from the menu bar).


When using SMTP mail, you get an SEE error -52.
or SEE ERROR: Code=-52: vSock write error. on cmd:seeSendEmail
  RESOLUTION:

There have been some reports of this when sending emails with very large attachements. The frequency is limited, and we are still looking into it...

Invalid attachment names can cause this problem (like having a comma in a file name).


When using SMTP mail, you get an SEE error -49.   RESOLUTION:

SEE Error 49 is due to a problem with the mail servier...Bad addresses can cause a returned error. Try deleting the email and resending. sm return: SMTP returned error. 571 Unable to determine MX host for 'dholt@brexsales.com'


When running a customer report, FILE: CUSTYESONLY.DBF Does not exist.   RESOLUTION:

This occurs on some reports when your selection doesn't find any customers meeting your requirements. Check your requirements and run again.


When involking 'FILE / CALENDAR' from main menu - Get an error OLD exception error: Exception code C00000005 OLD object may be corrupt   RESOLUTION:

Replace MSCAL.OCX. Check to make sure you are replacing the correct version. Default is in \WINDOWS\SYSTEM or \SYSTEM32, but can be specified with REGSVR32 so you may need to RUN 'regsvr32 /u mscal.ocx' and then reregister.


SEE ERROR: Code=-36: Error attempting to connect. on cmd:seeSmtpConnect
Sometimes error is: SMTP returned error. 553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)
  RESOLUTION:

For SPAM protection, some email servers require loggin in to their POP3 server before sending email. With version 4.01 of LocPlus, there is a 'Server requires send before recieve' option when setting up email information. Make sure that is checked and the Pop3 server information is setup.
